The trouble is that _f_ and _th_ are "unleniteable" in Sindarin (_ch_ would probable also be so if had not became _h_ initally, but note that it occures medially, eg _Rochand_ "Rohan" and is not lenited to **_gh_ or similar, just like _ephel_ and _eithel_ don't become **_evel_ and **_eidhel_), so they can hardly explain the _-ver-_ of Arvernien.
