Minque amandi ie ilya teemasse inga kanteemanyo; ratse ea sinossen [0]. Quatrain: a kind of poem that would make a form of 4 lines, of which the 1st and 2nd and last rhyme. There are 11 vowels [i.e. syllables] in each line of the first poem [= poems/Derzhanski.Shiela], 12 in each line of this one. Nuumea alatairesse [1] fanya falma, queta, man tyen [2] menelesse [3] lanya alma? Alataireo mammello hanya talma, manie marilla ar man sanya hyalma? White wave in the western ocean, say, who weaveth thy good fortune in the sky? Whence knoweth the bottom of the ocean what is a pearl and what an ordinary shell? [1] 'Nuumea alataire': sinome i Seerima i nuumessie Ameerikallo. [2] 'tyen': anakanta i vinyakarnen 'tye'-llo ve 'nin' karnie 'ni'-llo. [3] Uunan tanka, manie vanima menkanta 'menel' quenteo. Quentessen ve ensi telwa lamma talmo luulisse lunkie. Nai sina teema ayuva 'queta nin, man tyen menesse ...'. [0] For his original 'sinaressen' as per his corrigendum in TolkLang 9.46. [1] 'Nuumea alataire': on the west coast of America, here. (9.46) 'Alataire' is in ETYM as a proper name for a body of water. [2] 'tyen': < 'tye' = "thee" (acc) as 'nin' = "for me" (dat) < 'ni' = "me". [3] I [= Ivan Derzhanski] am not sure what 'menel' should become before case endings and suffixes. If the correct locative is *'menelse' > 'menesse', this line becomes: 'queta nin, man tyen menesse lanya alma'. ## (AA 9.45) I think the correct form is 'menelesse'.
